Details

Gavi Lake is located near Anekal and it is a 36-acre water body.

What work was done to restore

A 4 acre barren lake was used as dumping ground for chemicals and industrial waste. This lake is again a one of its kind effort in the lake rejuvenation history. It has many firsts.

It is completely a citizen led initiative through the process of crowd funding.
The waste material around the lake is segregated and used for the construction activities like stone pitching and the culvert walls.
Also, the Lake is the first step well type designed lake in India. It has now turned into a large step-well reservoir.
